SWARM · MIBBON · EFFECTIVE 20 OCTOBER 2026
Swarm is a browser game about holding a base against an alien bug swarm. This page says what the game stores, what it sends, where that goes and for how long. It is short because the game keeps very little.
01Who we are
The game is made and published by Mibbon. For anything about your data, write to team@mibbon.com.
02In short
- No accounts, no sign-up. The game never asks for your name, email or age.
- Your settings and research progress are kept in your own browser, on your own device, and never leave it.
- The game is paid for by advertising. Ads come from Poki and its partners, under Poki's privacy policy.
- We run no analytics, tracking or servers of our own, and we sell nothing to anybody.
03What is stored on your device
The game keeps a few entries in your browser's local storage, under the address it is played from. None of them identify you:
sw2.set: your settings, such as language, volume, graphics quality, input mode and display options;sw2.meta: your research points, the perks you bought with them, your best wave and how many runs you played;sw2.run: the run in progress (your base, resources, wave and upgrade cards), so you can carry on where you left off;sw2.tut: which tutorial lessons you have already seen;sw2.dex: the compendium: which kinds of monsters you have seen and how many of each you defeated;sw2.live: a single flag that is set while the game is open, so it can tell whether it closed normally last time;sw2.dump: only if you switch on the crash report option in the developer menu, a snapshot of the last game state, which stays on your device unless you copy it out yourself.
Local storage is not a cookie in the technical sense, but the law treats it the same way: information a website keeps on your device. Ours holds nothing but the game, is strictly necessary for the game to remember your progress, and is never sent anywhere. That is why the game shows no consent banner for it. Clear this site's data in your browser and it is gone, along with your research.
04Ads, and playing on Poki
Swarm is published on Poki and also at swarm.mibbon.com. In both places the game loads Poki's software from Poki's servers, which shows the ads. Poki and its advertising partners:
- show an ad between runs, and the rewarded ads you can choose to watch to re-roll your upgrade cards or to revive your base after it falls;
- set cookies and process information such as your IP address and device details to serve and measure those ads, and ask for your consent on their own consent screen where the law requires it;
- collect gameplay analytics, such as when a run starts and stops and how long people play.
All of that is Poki's processing, described in Poki's privacy policy, not this one. Poki B.V. is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Loading Poki's script means your browser makes a request to Poki, which carries your IP address, as every request on the web does.
05What we do not do
- We do not ask for, and do not have, your name, email address, date of birth or anything else about you.
- Beyond the local storage above, we set no cookies of our own and use no analytics, advertising or tracking services of our own.
- The game has no multiplayer, no chat and no leaderboards, and talks to no server of ours. Your runs exist only in your browser.
- We do not sell, rent or trade any data, and build no profiles of players.
- The game asks for no permissions on your device beyond what any web page has.
06Children
The game collects no personal data from anybody, of any age. There is nothing a player can type that another player could see. Ads shown to children on Poki follow Poki's rules for children.
07The law we work under
We work under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The only data the game itself keeps is the local storage above, which is strictly necessary to remember your progress. Consent for advertising cookies is asked for by Poki.
08Your rights
You may ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to our processing it. In practice we hold nothing: your save lives on your own device and is yours to delete at any time. If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
09Changes
If the game starts doing something this page does not describe, this page changes first. The date at the top is the date of the version you are reading.
